Unlock Versatile & Efficient Heating for Intricate Surfaces

Traditional heating elements can be rigid, challenging to install, or ineffective on non-flat, curved, or irregularly shaped surfaces. Whether you need to maintain precise temperatures in catering hot food counters, prevent condensation, or accelerate a process where internal heating isn't feasible, a flexible and adaptable solution is paramount.

Our Catering Heating Mats, also known as silicone heat pads, are engineered to solve these complex heating problems. Made from durable fibreglass-reinforced silicone, these mats offer exceptional flexibility, conforming seamlessly to intricate angles, pipes, and curved surfaces. Designed for working temperatures up to 150°C, this adhesive-backed version ensures incredibly easy and secure fitment, providing consistent and optimised heat distribution exactly where you need it.

Relatively low cost compared to many alternative heating elements, our silicone heat mats are a versatile choice for advanced market sectors, from food service to industrial applications, ensuring precise temperature control from the outside in.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Adhesive-Backed for Easy Fitment: Simply peel and stick for quick, secure, and permanent installation on clean, smooth, and dry surfaces.

  • Flexible & Conforming Design: Made from robust silicone, these mats bend and conform effortlessly to non-flat, curved, or intricately angled surfaces where other heaters fail.

  • Precise Temperature Control Options: Can be supplied with integrated features like a sensor pocket, built-in sensor, or thermostat, allowing operation with digital temperature controllers or mechanical thermostats for accurate heat management.

  • Optimal Heat Distribution: Designed to vary heat concentrations, ensuring uniform heating right to the edges of the mat, preventing cold spots.

  • High Working Temperature: Suitable for working temperatures up to 150°C, ideal for a wide range of catering and industrial heating applications.

  • Durable & Resilient: Constructed from fibreglass-reinforced silicone rubber, offering excellent longevity and resistance to wear and tear.

  • Splash-Resistant: While not fully waterproof, these mats are designed to withstand occasional liquid splashes, making them suitable for busy catering environments.

  • Economical Solution: Offers a cost-effective alternative to more rigid or complex heating elements for many applications.

  • Minimal Weight & Thickness: Adds negligible bulk, making them ideal for space-constrained or weight-sensitive applications.

  • Customisable: Available in various shapes, profiles, and with specific holes to precisely suit your surface requirements. Can be made to fit around pipework and valves.

How It Works

Our Catering Heating Mats function by direct contact heating. The internal heating elements within the flexible silicone material transfer heat efficiently to the surface it's adhered to. For the adhesive-backed version, installation is as simple as preparing a clean, smooth, dry bonding surface, peeling off the protective backing, and firmly pressing the mat into place. Once installed, the mat heats the external surface, allowing thermal energy to transfer inward. When equipped with a sensor or thermostat, the heat output is precisely regulated to maintain your desired temperature, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

  • Voltage Requirements: Designed to suit specific voltage needs for your equipment or region.

  • Top Insulation: Additional top insulation can be added to further reduce heat loss.

  • Outdoor Use: Specialised solutions available for more robust outdoor environmental protection.

Important Installation & Safety Notice

Installation of silicone heating mats should be performed by a qualified person, adhering to all local electrical codes and safety regulations. For adhesive-backed mats, ensure the bonding surface is smooth, clean, dry, and free of grease to ensure proper adhesion and heat transfer. While splash-resistant, these mats are NOT waterproof and should not be immersed in liquid or exposed to continuous running water without appropriate additional protection. Not for use in explosion-hazard areas or with flammable materials unless specifically certified for such environments. Proper temperature control via a sensor or thermostat is crucial to prevent overheating and ensure safe operation.

Customer Reviews

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Perfect for Our Hot Counter!"

"We needed to upgrade our hot food counter and these adhesive silicone mats were the perfect solution. So easy to install, they heat evenly, and the 150°C rating is ideal for our needs. Food stays perfectly warm. Highly recommend!" - Restaurant Owner, Commercial Kitchen.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"Versatile and Reliable"

"I've used these mats for both lab equipment and small tank heating. Their flexibility is a huge advantage, fitting perfectly to curved surfaces. The adhesive backing makes installation a breeze, and they've proven to be very reliable. Great product!" - R&D Engineer, Chemical Sector.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q1: Can this heating mat be cut to a specific size or shape?

A1: Standard mats are supplied as-is. However, we offer custom design solutions where mats can be made to any shape, size, or profile, including cut-outs, to perfectly suit your surface. Please contact us for custom orders.

Q2: What is the difference between "adhesive-backed" and "non-adhesive" options?

A2: An adhesive-backed mat has a peel-and-stick layer for permanent, easy attachment. A non-adhesive mat requires an alternative mounting method, such as mechanical fasteners, clamping, or a separate high-temperature adhesive, offering more flexibility for relocation if needed.

Q3: Is this heating mat suitable for outdoor use?

A3: While the IP rating indicates resistance to dust and water splashes, for continuous outdoor exposure to harsh weather conditions (heavy rain, extreme cold, prolonged UV), specialised "outdoor use solutions" with higher environmental protection or additional weatherproofing for both the mat and electrical connections are recommended.

Q4: How do I control the temperature of the mat?

A4: You can choose to have the mat fitted with a sensor pocket, an in-built sensor, or a moulded-on thermostat. These options allow you to connect the mat to an external digital temperature controller or a mechanical thermostat to precisely set and maintain your desired temperature.

Q5: What does "0.8W/cm² watt density" mean?

A5: Watt density refers to the amount of power per unit area. A higher watt density means the heater can deliver more heat to a smaller area, resulting in faster heating. 0.8W/cm² is a common and effective watt density for many silicone heater applications.

Great price, good quality Heat mats!

Heat mats were great, but, perhaps a few more seconds packaging properly as mine arrived with the box half open and no packing material. If i had ordered small parts, they would have been lost in transit!
