Solid state relay heatsink units are used to enable full rated capacity of the relay. Solid state relays operate typically about 50% of their rated capacity without a heatsink. With a heatsink this allows for 100% capacity. These should be used in control panels where other electrical components are used that will also add to the overall panel heating. A separate fan should be used in the panel to also allow for better air flow.
