Quality Accuracy Reliability
The determining factors when dimensioning straight rod elements are the specific loads and the temperature limits of the heated material, the tube shell and the heating conductor.
If the heating element is accurately dimensioned, it will operate reliably and over a long period. This also requires the element to be installed correctly and have an adequate outflow of heat. The temperature limits of the medium and, if liquids are heated, suitable protection against boiling dry should also be considered.
Straight rod elements are supplied in lengths ranging from 915mm (3ft) to 3658mm (12ft) and are 8mm in diameter.
Straight rod tubular elements are fitted with a standard M4 x 20mm long thread and are supplied with locking nuts and washers.
Gland Assemblies are supplied separately for wet applications, or were a air tight seal is required. This is created by using a brass olive which compresses onto the element when the locking nut is tightened.
